The great reviews are very legitimate. Great coffee, reasonable price, very friendly service from Ben the barista. Planning to come back to buy some beans when our current supply runs out.

Best coffee in Ottawa! I was visiting from Calgary for a wedding and glad I randomly walked by Opulence! JP is amazing! Super knowledgeable about coffee with interesting life stories. Loved the customers coming in who are regulars and who shared tips for sights and places to visit and eat at. Loved the vibe of the place and the coffee was delicious so I kept coming back everyday of my stay in Ottawa. Don't miss out! Thanks again JP!

Ottawa should count itself lucky to have someone of Mr Gorley's experience and passion running its finest coffee shop. Granted, it won't give you the perfect cupcake, a comfortable study space, dogs to pet, or the finest instagram props. What it does is coffee. And it does coffee better than anyone.

Coffee was just too bitter, no other tastes in the cup. Small choice of beverages, no filter coffee. Owner told that he roasts coffee every 2-3 days and you can order just roasted coffee, but it’s not proper way of roasting coffee. To get proper taste roasted beans have to rest at least a week for degassing. That was bad and expensive experience. That wasn’t comparing to Eastern European or Tim Hortons. Just to different coffee roasters in Ottawa. For 2 cappuccino at your place I payed a little more than 10 cad, that was my the most expensive coffee in Ottawa. I don’t pay attention to latte art at all. I prefer good taste (not just bitterness in the cup). After your place we went to “ Little Victories Coffee Roasters” - they had totally different coffee and we enjoyed it. I agree that everybody have different taste and wish you lots of guests who enjoys your coffee. All the best

Amazing. Can't say anything else. Expect an expert coffee loving barista to serve you the best coffee you will ever have!!! I only drink decaf and never have much expectations for them but this decaf was so good! Coffee is reasonably priced and all coffee beans are freshly roasted. He let us try his hot chocolate as well which was phenomenal. Definitely recommend!!

By far the most delicious americano and mocha we tasted in Ottawa. Coffee is flavourful and full of nuanced. Mocha is outstanding! The owner, JP is very passionate about coffee. More power to your shop, JP!

Best coffee/latté I've had in the northern Americas (hard to find!); I'll be back. I hate "card only" payment options; but I also 'get it' based on how the owner runs his establishment. Given how good the coffee is, I'd give in to that detail again.
